PROPOSED RECOMMENDED ACQUISITION OF THE AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
ACQUISITION COMPLETED
The acquisition of the Automobile Association by Centrica plc has now been
completed. The despatch of payments to Eligible Members will commence shortly
and is expected to be completed by 15 October 1999.
Centrica is also pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Brian Shaw as a
Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective today.
The Chairman, Sir Michael Perry, welcomed the appointment and said: 'Sir Brian
will chair a new committee of the Board, The AA Motoring Policy Committee,
which will have responsibility for ensuring that the work of the AA as the
'voice of the responsible motorist' is continued.'
Sir Brian will also become a member of the Company's Remuneration and Audit
Committees.
