APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Centrica plc is pleased to announce that Roger Carr has been appointed a
Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 1st January 2001. He will
also become a member of the Company's Audit and Remuneration Committees.
Chairman, Sir Michael Perry, said the appointment further strengthened the
composition of the Board. He added, 'Roger brings long and wide ranging
experience to our deliberations as we continue to grow and expand our
business.'
Roger Carr is Chairman of Chubb plc (previously Chief Executive of Williams
plc) and a non-executive director of Bass plc. He was the chairman of Thames
Water prior to the sale of the business in November 2000.
Note: There are no disclosures to be made under 6 F2(b) to (g) of the
Listing Rules.
