Directors' Share Interests - Share purchase by the Trustees of the
Company's Long Term Incentive Scheme

Centrica plc announces that Mourant & Co Trustees Limited, Trustees of the
Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme, has acquired 1,000,000 ordinary shares 
of 5 5/9p each in Centrica plc on 23rd November 2000 at 248.6p in respect of the
Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme in which the participants, including
Executive Directors and Senior Management, have a potential interest.
