Directors' Share Interests - Share purchase by the Trustees of the Company's
Long Term Incentive Scheme

Centrica plc announces that Mourant & Co Trustees Limited, Trustees of the
Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme, has acquired ordinary shares of 5 5/9p each
in Centrica plc on 7, 8, 9 and 10 November 2000 at the following prices:

7 November         825,000 at 246.41p
8 November         400,000 at 246.9p
9 November         500,000 at 248.9p
10 November        400,000 at 249.82p

in respect of the Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme in which the participants,
including Executive Directors and Senior Management, have a potential interest.
