Appointment of Paul Walsh as Centrica Non-Executive Director

Centrica plc is pleased to announce that Paul Walsh has been appointed a
Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 1st March 2003.
Paul Walsh is the CEO of Diageo plc, and a non-executive director of
Federal Express Corporation and General Mills Inc., both based in the US. He was
educated at Manchester University.
Centrica Chairman, Sir Michael Perry GBE, said: 'Paul is the highly successful
leader of a global business with premium brands operating in many markets. His
experience will be invaluable to us as we continue to develop our business both
here in the UK and internationally. Paul's appointment will complement the
Centrica board at a time when the Group is planning to continue to grow by
enhancing the value of its customer relationships.'
There are no disclosures to be made under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the
Listing Rules.
