Centrica plc announces today that Sir Brian Shaw will retire as a non-executive
director of the company at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting to be
held on 12 May, 2003. Sir Brian will by then have reached the age of 70, being
the normal retirement age for non-executive directors of the company. Sir Brian
will continue to chair the independent AA Motoring Trust.
