Director's Share Interests - Share purchase by the Trustees of the Company's
Long Term Incentive Scheme

Centrica Plc announces that Mourant & Co Trustees Limited, Trustees of the 
Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme, has acquired 1,778,027 ordinary shares
of 5 5/9p each in Centrica plc on 19 and 24 November 1999 at the following
prices:

          19 November                1,383,143 at 156.181p
          24 November                  394,884 at 161p

in respect of the Centrica Long Term Incentive Scheme in which the participants,
including Executive Directors and Senior Management, have a 
potential interest.
