CENTRICA PLC - EXPOSURE TO ENRON CORP.
Centrica plc confirms that it has been monitoring and is working to reduce its
trading exposure to Enron Corp. We have existing contracts which currently
have a positive mark-to-market of approximately £30m. This represents our
exposure to Enron (and the potential write-off) on our forward trading
activities, should Enron cease to perform under these contracts.
In the event Enron defaults on its contractual obligations, we remain
confident in our ability to supply all our customers and believe that the
market will continue to function in an orderly manner.
