Dinkie Heel plc
Trading Statement and announcement of Board changes
Dinkie Heel plc announces that its trading level for the second half of 2000
to date is similar to that of the first half and that the expected performance
for the full year will not be materially different from last year.
The core toe cap and footwear components businesses continue to suffer from
the detrimental effect of the weak euro on sales opportunities and prices.
The EVA flooring and protective clothing businesses are performing
satisfactorily and in accordance with management expectations.
Mr David Parkes, who reached the age of 70 on 30th September 2000, is to
retire as Chairman and from the Board on 1st January 2001. The company is
pleased to announce that Mr Richard Organ (48) has agreed to join the Board as
Executive Chairman, acting on a part time basis, with effect from the same
date.
Mr Organ brings to the company significant experience of manufacturing and
marketing in the footwear and clothing industries gained with C & J Clark Ltd
and Coats Viyella PLC. He is a non executive director of Swallowfield PLC.
His experience will be of considerable help to the Board in finalising its
strategy to bring the company back into profit and in further developing the
marketing of its EVA flooring and protective clothing businesses.
