                               Director Dealings

The Company announces details of the following exercises of options and warrants
and the sale of the following ordinary shares of 5p each ('Ordinary Shares') by
certain directors of the Company on 12 April 2006:

1.      Mr. John Gunn, a non-executive director of the Company, sold 400,000
Ordinary Shares at 315p per share. Mr. Gunn retains 85,280 Ordinary Shares in
the Company, representing approximately 0.15 per cent of the Company's issued
share capital, in addition to 122,500 warrants over Ordinary Shares in the
Company. Mr. Gunn also has beneficial interests in 1,151,550 Ordinary Shares in
the Company in addition to 330,153 warrants over Ordinary Shares in the Company.

2.      Mr. Philip Holbeche, Chairman of the Company, exercised 367,640 warrants
over Ordinary Shares in the Company and sold these Ordinary Shares at 315p per
share. Mr. Holbeche retains 716,400 Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing
approximately 1.25 per cent of the Company's issued share capital, together with
options over 830,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company.

3.      Dr. Peter Bance, Chief Executive of the Company, exercised 250,000
options over Ordinary Shares in the Company and sold these at 315p per share.
Dr. Bance retains 2,267,400 options over Ordinary Shares in the Company.

4.      Dr. Andrew Baker, Operations Director of the Company, exercised 150,000
options over Ordinary Shares in the Company and sold these at 315p per share.
Dr. Baker retains 450,000 options over Ordinary Shares in the Company.

The Company was informed on 13 April 2006 that Harry Fitzgibbons, a
non-executive director of the Company, on 13 April 2006 sold 10,000 Ordinary
Shares in the Company at 315p per share. Mr. Fitzgibbons' total holding in the
Company is now 160,000 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 0.3% of the
Company's issued share capital.
