CHARACTER GROUP PLC (the 'Company')

The Company was today informed that Orbis Pension Trustees Limited, the
trustees of the Character Group Employee Trust (the 'Trust'), yesterday
acquired 25,000 ordinary shares of 5p each at a price of 288p per share on
behalf of the Trust.  The executive directors of the Company are deemed to be
interested in the shares owned by the Trust.
