Last night, the Toy Retailers Association awarded the Character Group's Doctor
Who Cyberman Voice Changer Helmet the prestigious 'Toy of the Year' title; also
in the Boys Toys category, the award went to Character's range of Doctor Who
action figures.
The Cyberman Voice Changer Helmet is part of the award winning Doctor Who range
that has achieved unprecedented success developed in association with BBC
Worldwide.
Richard King, Chairman, Character Group said:
'We're delighted to receive this award, which is testament to the strength of
the Doctor Who brand and recognises our efforts in making sure the quality of

As master toy licensee, Character Group celebrated a phenomenal year in 2006
with over 1.7 million Doctor Who action figures sold. These action figures
continue to be part of the extensive range, all of which were designed and
developed in-house by Character Group.
Richard Hollis, BBC Head of UK licensing said:
'This is exciting news - our partnership with Character Group continues to go
from strength to strength, and we look forward to enjoying continued success
with their toy ranges.'
2007 is predicted to be another good year for the Doctor Who range with new
