           Statement re Settlement Agreement with Uniden Corporation



On 29 November 2004, Character Group announced that World Wide Licenses Limited,
its wholly owned subsidiary based in Hong Kong ('WWL'), had reached an agreement
with Uniden Corporation of America ('Uniden') to end the dispute between the two
companies whereby Uniden agreed to pay to WWL the sum of US$4.5 million in
total. The Company confirms that the final instalment of the settlement sum,
being US$2.25 million, was received from Uniden yesterday, 20 January 2005.
