Elektron Plc ('the Company'), the AIM quoted components and power electronics
group, announces the acquisition of Inhoco 3013 Limited for a consideration of
9,482,726 Elektron ordinary shares of 5p each of the Company, pursuant to the
five year authority granted by shareholders on 12 July 2000, to be issued at a
price of 5.5p each. Inhoco 3013 Limited is a company with an issued share
capital of £521,550 and cash of £521,550 and has not traded since incorporation.
The issue is conditional upon admission of the consideration shares to trading
on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange ('AIM')

The cash resources that will be made available to the Company as a result of the
acquisition will be used for additional working capital purposes following the
Arcolectric acquisition announced on 24 December 2003.
Inhoco 3013 was owned by 9 shareholders including Mr. J. Kinder and Specialist
Holdings Limited. Following the issue of the shares for the acquisition of
Inhoco 3013 Limited, Mr. J Kinder will hold a total of 10,342,647 ordinary
shares in the Company representing 13.86% of the enlarged issued share capital
and Specialist Holdings Limited will hold a total of 3,159,090 ordinary shares
in the Company representing 4.23% of the enlarged issued share capital.

The ordinary shares to be issued pursuant to the above arrangements will rank
pari passu with the existing shares in issue. Application has been made for the
9,482,726 new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM.
