  Trading statement to be made by the Chairman at the Company's Annual General
                            Meeting to be held today


Adrian Girling, Executive Chairman of Elektron, the AIM traded components
manufacturer will make the following  statement at the Annual General Meeting of
the Company to be held later today:

'We announced our results for the year ended 31 January 2005 on 27 May 2005 and
provided a review of trading for the  first quarter as part of that
announcement.  Since that time, trading has been in line with the Board's
expectations.

Bulgin has seen weakness in some of its markets being offset by savings derived
from overseas manufacturing.

Arcolectric did not this year have the benefit of the backlog of orders which
had built up prior to its acquisition by  the Company.  I am pleased to report
however that Arcoelectric's average daily order intake has increased in each 
successive month in the first half of this year.

We expect to report a satisfactory outcome for the six months ending 31 July
2005.'
