                               BOARD APPOINTMENT

Elektron Plc announces that Keith Anthony Daley (age 48) has joined the Board as
a non executive director of Elektron Plc with immediate effect.

Keith Daley has extensive experience of banking, the securities markets and
corporate finance. He is currently a director of Specialist Holdings Limited
which is involved in securities trading and for many years has been an active
investor in the shares of smaller companies. Keith Daley is also a director of
Torus Investment Managers Limited and Pro Corda Ventures Limited. He was
formerly a director of Inhoco 3013 Limited, a cash shell that was acquired by
Elektron Plc in December 2003.

Keith Daley was a non executive director of The Birmingham Box Company Limited
within 12 months prior to that company being placed into administrative
receivership on 21 May 1990. As such he represented Specialist Holdings Limited
which had lent funds to that company in a rescue refinancing.

Save as disclosed above, there are no further disclosures in accordance with
Schedule 2 paragraph f of the AIM rules.
