                           Directors dealings


Elektron Plc (the 'Company' or 'Elektron'), the AIM quoted components and
electronics group, was informed today of the following purchases of ordinary
shares of 5 pence each in the Company ('Ordinary Shares').

On 8 July 2004 Specialist Holdings Limited Pension Plan 3 purchased 75,000
Ordinary Shares at a price of 12.25 pence per Ordinary Share. Following this
purchase, Specialist Holdings Limited Pension Plan 3 now holds 1,350,000
Ordinary Shares, representing 1.77 per cent. of the issued Ordinary Share
capital of the Company. Specialist Holdings Limited Pension Plan 3 is a self
administered pension plan, the sole beneficiary of which is Keith Daley, a
director of the Company. In addition, Keith Daley wholly owns the issued share
capital of Specialist Holdings Limited that owns 1,000,000 Ordinary Shares,
representing 1.31 per cent. of the issued Ordinary Share capital of the Company.
Keith Daley directly holds 10,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.01 per cent.
of the issued Ordinary Share capital of the Company. Accordingly, Keith Daley
now has an interest in a total of 2,360,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 3.09
per cent. of the issued Ordinary Share capital of the Company.

Christopher Leigh, a director of the Company, purchased 40,000 Ordinary Shares
on 8 July 2004 at a price of 12.25 pence per Ordinary Share. Christopher Leigh
now holds 84,000 Ordinary shares, representing 0.11 per cent. of the issued
Ordinary Share capital. In addition, Chris Leigh has a non-beneficial interest
in 364,500 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.48 per cent. of the issued Ordinary
Share capital. Accordingly, Chris Leigh now has an interest in a total of
448,500 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.59 per cent. of the issued Ordinary
Share capital of the Company.
