                                 Notice of AGM


Bulgin PLC, which manufactures components, power management systems and
microwave communications products, will hold its Annual General Meeting at 3
pm on Wednesday 15 August 2001.

One of the Resolutions will propose to change the Company's name.  The Company
was known for many years as A F Bulgin & Company PLC and in 1997 it changed to
Bulgin PLC.

As the Group continues to expand its electronic activities, it is anomalous
and potentially misleading for it to be known by a name mainly synonymous with
electro-mechanical components.  The Group's electro-mechanical components
subsidiary will continue to trade as Bulgin Components and to develop the
Bulgin brand.  The Board is proposing that the Group's name be changed to
Elektron PLC.
