ELEKTRON JOINS SHAREMARK
The Board of Elektron Plc (the 'Company' or 'Elektron') announces that it has
decided to seek an additional trading facility for its shares on ShareMark.
Trading on ShareMark, the auction based matched bargain market, will commence at
08:00 a.m. on Monday 19 May 2003. Elektron shares will continue to be traded on
AiM.
ShareMark is a market operated by the Share Centre, a leading independent retail
stockbroker, and is regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Commenting on joining ShareMark, Adrian Girling, Chairman of Elektron, said
'This listing on ShareMark will greatly benefit our existing 3,000 shareholders
through generating a more active secondary market in Elektron's shares. They
will benefit from greater transparency in the sales process due to the
innovative auction-based system and their dealing costs will be substantially
reduced due to the absence of a market maker taking a margin.'
