AGM Statement

Chemring Group PLC 23 March 2006 CHEMRING GROUP PLC AGM STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN Chemring Group PLC (the 'Company') today celebrated its 100th Annual General Meeting. Ken Scobie, Chairman, made the following statement: 'I am delighted to report that the Group continues to make excellent progress. Our countermeasures division is performing well and strong order intake, particularly at Kilgore Flares in the USA, has contributed to an increase in the Group's order book to £179 million from £160 million since the end of January. The acquisition of Technical Ordnance, Inc. was completed on 13 March 2006, following receipt of regulatory approvals. Good progress is also being made on the integration of the other four recently-acquired businesses in the Energetics division, and the delivery of our strategy for this division is on-track. The recruitment of a third independent non-executive director is under way, and it is hoped that an appointment will be announced shortly. David Evans, who served as Chief Executive of the Group for six years and more recently as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, is due to retire in October 2006. The Board values his continued input and it has therefore been agreed that, with effect from 1 April 2006, he will take-up a three year appointment as a non-executive director of the Company. His service contract with the Company will terminate at this time.'
