Charitable donation of shares to the David and Jane Richards Family Foundation
by David Richards, Chief Executive and Co-founder of WANdisco
WANdisco (LSE: WAND), the world leader in Active Data Replication™, announces that David Richards, Chief Executive, Interim Chairman and Co-founder of WANdisco, has made a charitable donation of 100,000 ordinary shares, for nil consideration, to the David and Jane Richards Family Foundation ("the Foundation").
The Foundation, which will officially launch later this year, has been set up to educate, empower and improve the lives of children through hands-on programmes and targeted assistance.
David Richards, Chief Executive and Interim Chairman of WANdisco, commented:
"I have donated these shares to the David and Jane Richards Family Foundation in order to make a real difference to the lives of children in the UK and America. Starting in Sheffield, I hope practical learning initiatives in computer science with real-world applications across all industries will open up new opportunities for young people and equip them to compete in the global job market."
Following this donation, David Richards is beneficially interested in 2,089,233 shares in the Company, representing 5.5 per cent. of the Company's current issued share capital.
