50^th Consecutive Year of Dividend Increases

The Board of The City of London Investment Trust plc ('the Company') is pleased to announce third and fourth interim dividends in respect of the year ending 30 June 2016.

A third interim dividend of 4.05p per ordinary share of 25p will be paid on 31 May 2016 to holders registered at the close of business on 29 April 2016.  The Company's shares will go ex-dividend on 28 April 2016. 

A fourth interim dividend of 4.05p per ordinary share of 25p will be paid on 31 August 2016 to holders registered at the close of business on 29 July 2016.  The Company's shares will go ex-dividend on 28 July 2016.

The total dividend for the year to 30 June 2016 is 15.90p per share, an increase of 3.9% over the previous year, and is the 50^th consecutive year of dividend increases.
