Appointment of New Non-Executive Director

The Board of The City of London Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Morgan as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 March 2012.

Mr Morgan has been Chief Executive of Daily Mail and General Trust PLC since October 2008, having joined the Group in 1989. He was previously chief executive of dmg information.   He is a non-executive director of Euromoney Institutional Investor plc.

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Mr Morgan.
