The Board of The City of London Investment Trust plc announces that:

A first interim dividend of 4.05p per Ordinary Share of 25p, in respect of the year ending 30 June 2017 will be paid on 30 November 2016 to holders registered at the close of business on 21 October 2016.  The Company's shares will go ex-dividend on 20 October 2016.
