COMMENCEMENT OF TRADING ON THE OFFICIAL LIST

City of London Investment Group PLC ("the Company"), is pleased to announce that admission to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities of 26,263,853 ordinary shares of 1 pence ("Ordinary Shares") has occurred ("Admission") and that trading in its Ordinary Shares became effective from 8.00 am today.  The Company's ticker will remain 'CLIG'.

Barry Olliff, Chief Executive Officer, said, "Our admission to the main list of the London Stock Exchange after four years on AIM seems like a coming of age.  During the last four years, I believe that we have demonstrated to shareholders that our team-based culture and risk-averse business model can generate both superior investment performance and meaningful dividends.  We are looking forward to the next phase of our growth."
