City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional products investing in closed-end funds, has been notified that Liese Aling, spouse of Barry Aling, our Non-Executive Chairman, has purchased an initial holding of 20,000 ordinary shares of £0.01 each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of £4.28 per share.

Following the purchase, Mr. Aling's beneficial interest is 114,300 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 0.2% of the Company's issued share capital.
