City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading emerging markets asset management group, announces that on 7 October 2014 the Company's Employee Share Option Plan ("ESOP") purchased 300,000 ordinary shares of 1p each at a price of 330 pence per share.  Following this purchase the ESOP holds 2,130,283 ordinary shares in the Company representing 7.9% of the Company's issued capital.
