City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional and retail products investing in closed-end funds, announces that the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 8,500 ordinary shares of 1p each on 22 December 2020 at a price of £4.30 per share, and a further 6,354 ordinary shares of 1p each on 23 December 2020 at a price of £4.299284 per share.  Following these purchases, the Trust holds 1,357,158 ordinary shares in the Company representing 2.7% of the Company's issued capital, of which 678,120 (1.3% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
