City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional and retail products investing primarily in closed-end funds, announces that the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 2,948 ordinary shares of 1p each on 21 May 2021 at a price of £5.388 per share, a further 6,123 ordinary shares of 1p each on 24 May 2021 at a price of £5.3873 per share, and 133 ordinary shares of 1p each on 25 May 2021 at a price of £5.34 per share. 

Following these purchases, the Trust holds 1,600,341 ordinary shares in the Company representing 3.2% of the Company's issued capital, of which 678,120 (1.3% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
