CLARKSON PLC
BOARD CHANGE
The Board of Clarkson PLC, the holding company of the shipping services and
shipbroking group, announces that Richard Fulford-Smith has asked to step down
as a director of the Holding Company in order to concentrate on his role as
Managing Director of the group's main UK trading subsidiary, H Clarkson &
Company Limited.
Commenting on the news, Michael Beckett, Chairman of Clarkson PLC, said 'Whilst
I am disappointed to be losing Richard's services as a director of the public
company, I can fully understand and sympathise with his desire to return to a
full time shipbroking role. Richard has felt for some time that his role on the
PLC board was distracting him from his real passion, shipbroking, and we are
pleased that Richard will continue to operate as Managing Director of the
shipbroking business. The PLC board is grateful to Richard for his services and
we know that we can call on his wealth of experience on particular projects in
the future as and when required'.
