ANNOUNCEMENT OF ADDITIONAL NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The board of Close Brothers Group plc ("Close") is pleased to announce the
appointment of Strone Macpherson as an independent non-executive director of the
company with effect from 3rd March 2003.
Mr Macpherson is a non-executive director of AXA UK plc and British Empire
Securities and General Trust plc and is on the Investment Committee and General
Council of the King's Fund. He is chairman of the Misys Charitable Foundation
and of JP Morgan Fleming Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc. In 1989 he
joined the board of Misys plc and became Executive Deputy Chairman in 1991 and
resigned from this role in autumn of last year.
There are no details requiring disclosure in relation to Mr Macpherson under
paragraphs 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the UKLA Listing Rules.
