TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 8 November 2010 it transferred 1,442 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was 428.0 pence

Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 4,792,409 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 144,874,914 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
