CARDINAL RESOURCES PLC FILES ANNUAL CANADIAN OIL AND GAS RESERVES DISCLOSURE

Cardinal Resources plc (AIM:CDL) ('Cardinal' or 'the Company'), an independent
oil and gas production and exploration company operating in Ukraine, today
announces that it has filed its Statement of Reserves Data and Other Oil and Gas
Information, Report of Independent Qualified Reserves Evaluator and Report of
Management and Directors for the 2005 fiscal year, as required under Canadian
Securities Administrators National Instrument 51-101 Standards of Disclosure for
Oil and Gas Activities. These filings can be accessed electronically from the
SEDAR system at www.sedar.com.

The information contained in this filing was extracted from the May 2006 Reserve
Evaluation Report prepared by RPS Energy Canada Ltd., the Canadian-registered
sister company to Scott Pickford. The Canadian filing is based on the same
reserve and price forecast data contained in the May 2006 report.

This filing requirement dates back to when Cardinal's predecessor, Carpatsky
Petroleum Inc., was a public company in Canada.
