("Pinnacle" or the "Company")
Pinnacle Telecom Group plc (AIM: PINN) the AIM listed provider of cloud technology based telecommunications solutions, announces that it has again been awarded the contract to provide the voice and data connectivity for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, which will be held at Carlisle on 14th & 15th May 2011.
BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is Europe's biggest free festival, consisting of eight stages covering over 90 acts, which this year will include Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance and Nicole Scherzinger.
Commenting on the new contract win, Alan Bonner, CEO of Pinnacle, said: "It's great to be delivering BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend again, this year we have installed a 100Mb fibre point to point circuit between the event and our network in London, which, once the event is completed, can be used to deliver voice and data for local businesses, which is a real benefit as there is currently nothing of this capacity in the area."
