COMINO GROUP PLC: CONTRACT GAIN
£5m contract for supply to Norwich City Council
Comino Group plc ('Comino'), the provider of software solutions for the local
government, housing associations and occupational pensions sectors, announces
that it has been awarded contracts worth £5m, over a 15 year period, for its
part in a consortium bid to Norwich City Council ('Norwich CC'). Comino will
supply workflow, electronic document management and citizen relationship
management software and related services under a project known as 'Norwich
Connect'.
The contract, one of Comino's largest with a local government, is part of a £85m
Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project to meet e-Government targets by 2005.
Norwich CC will work in partnership with a business consortium of Integris, KPMG
Consulting and BT to provide 24-hour access to information and services through
the web and public information points, using products and services from Comino.
The project has also been given Pathfinder Status by the Treasury, which means
it may be used as a blueprint by other local authorities to modernise their
working methods to provide public focused services by managing the workflow
process efficiently and eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy and administrative
delay.
Commenting, Garth Selvey, Comino's Chief Executive, said:
'We are very pleased to be part of the Norwich City Council initiative which is
the first full-scale e-government project of its type. This project is at the
heart of Comino's on-going strategy to provide software solutions across all
local government departments helping to bring improvements to their service
delivery and performance.'
Comino has previously provided workflow and document management systems to the
Norwich CC for use in its Revenues and Benefits department.
