The  Company  was notified today, 11 January  2001,  that
under Sections 198 to 202 of the Companies Act 1985  CGNU
PLC  has  a  beneficial  interest in  2,073,000  ordinary
shares  representing 15.17 per cent. of the issued  share
capital.
