Guinness Peat Group plc announces that one of its directors, Mr G J Cureton, has
bought and sold shares in one of its quoted Australian subsidiaries, Capral
Aluminium Limited ("Capral"). Buduva Pty Limited, in which Mr Cureton has an
indirect interest, yesterday sold 144,000 shares in Capral and Mr Cureton
purchased 175,000 shares in Capral the same day.  Capral has 194.6 million
shares in issue.
