GUINNESS PEAT GROUP plc ("GPG")
DISPOSAL OF STAVELEY FIRE SERVICES LIMITED
GPG announces that it has sold Staveley Fire Services Limited, the UK fire
protection business.
The cash proceeds received at completion total £17.7m. At completion the net
assets of the business sold were £0.6m.
In the year to 31 December 2004 the fire protection business contributed
turnover of £41.6m and operating profit before Head Office costs of £3.5m to
Staveley's results.
GPG is a strategic investment company. The sale proceeds are in the form of
cash and this will be utilised in GPG's ongoing business.
The sale brings the disposal of Staveley's UK businesses to a very satisfactory
conclusion.
