Guinness Peat Group ("GPG") announces the grant of options on 9 March 2007 in
accordance with its 2002 Executive Share Option Scheme over the ordinary 5p
shares of GPG ("GPG Shares") at an exercise price of 81.5 pence and exercisable
between 9 March 2010 and 9 March 2017 as follows:

Graeme Cureton                                 1,000,000 options
Tony Gibbs                                     1,000,000 options
Blake Nixon                                    1,000,000 options
Gary Weiss                                     1,000,000 options
