In accordance with the Rules Governing Substantial Acquisition of Shares the
following is the text of a Disclosure sent today to the Company Secretary of
Dawson plc.
DISCLOSURE UNDER RULE 3 OF THE RULES GOVERNING SUBSTANTIAL
ACQUISITION OF SHARES:
DAWSON INTERNATIONAL PLC
Guinness Peat Group plc and its subsidiary companies ('GPG') announce that,
following the purchases of 1,250,000 ordinary shares of 50p each ('Shares') of
Dawson International PLC ('Dawson') on 17 January 2002, it increased its holding
to 28,861,833 Shares representing 28.49% of the issued share capital of Dawson.
No person interested in the Shares is party to any agreement or arrangement
relating to the exercise of any rights conferred by holding the Shares subject
to this notification. '
