Contract win
SEA awarded £4m contract to support UK Ministry of Defence research programme
Cohort, the independent technology group, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary SEA has been awarded a £4 million contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to support a four-year research programme for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).
The programme, known as Architectures, Interoperability and Management of Simulations, is part of Dstl's Synthetic Environment Tower of Excellence. It is focused on integrating live and simulation-based systems used for defence operational training and concept development as well as supporting equipment acquisition projects. Activities will include research, the development of a roadmap of future relevant technologies and creating a new experimentation facility. SEA will be supported by its partners BAE Systems, Thales UK and QinetiQ, together with a team of specialists from industry and academia.
Andrew Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort, said: "This is an excellent win and a further demonstration of SEA's strong reputation as a provider of research into future generations of defence technology. It continues SEA's involvement in simulation and builds on its experience working with Dstl on programmes covering expeditionary logistics support and soldier equipment."
