SCS Wins £9.7m Training and Exercise Support Contract
Cohort plc, the independent technology business, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary SCS has today been awarded a two year contract to provide training and exercise support to the UK Ministry of Defence's (MOD) Joint Forces Command (JFC). The contract, valued at £9.7m, commences on 1 April 2016 and includes options to extend it for a further two years.
Under the contract SCS will provide a comprehensive support service for the design, development and delivery of joint force exercises. SCS has carried out this role since 2000, winning five successive competitive tenders. Over the period SCS has provided effective training in the range of military tasks from small-scale stabilisation operations to full war-fighting.
Andy Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort plc, said:
"The award of this contract underlines SCS' leadership in operational level exercise support services, and further strengthens our order book. We are very proud to have supported the MoD's collective training of deployable military headquarters for more than 15 years, both in the UK and overseas."
