SEA Awarded £10 million Defence Science and Technology Research Contract
Cohort, the independent technology group, today announces that its subsidiary SEA has been awarded a four year, £10 million research contract by the UK Government's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.
Under this program, known as Delivering Dismounted Effect (DDE), SEA will lead a team of specialists researching future technologies for dismounted soldiers. This builds on the successful work undertaken by SEA and its partners on the Future Dismounted Close Combat program which it has managed for the last five years.
Commenting on the contract, Andrew Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort, said: "I am very pleased to announce this significant win, which demonstrates the strengthening of our business and expands our position on long-term programmes. DDE is a vital research program with the potential to make a big contribution to the effectiveness of our future combat ground forces. The award to SEA is a clear vote of confidence in both our technical capability and our research management skills."
