The Company was informed on 29 July 2002 that following the recent buy-back of
shares, the interest of AMVESCAP PLC (AMVESCAP) and subsidiary companies on
behalf of discretionary clients within the meaning of Part VI of the Act is
2,587,000 Ordinary 10p Shares representing 12.055%.

None of these shares are beneficially owned by AMVESCAP. Subsidiary companies of
AMVESCAP have a large number of portfolio management clients for whom they act
as investment manager and investment advisor and by virtue of Section 203 of the
Companies Act 1985 AMVESCAP is deemed to have the same interest in the shares.

The above holding includes the following notifiable holdings:- INVESCO English
and International Trust PLC still holds 975,000 shares (4.54%), registered in
the name of Chase Nominees Limited and INVESCO Perpetual Global Smaller
Companies Fund still holds 1,017,000 shares (4.739%), registered in the name of
Vidacos Nominees limited.
