SAINT-GOBAIN'S LEADING EFFORTS AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE ONCE AGAIN RECOGNIZED BY CDP

This year, Saint-Gobain has once again been named as a member of the "Climate Change A List" drawn up by CDP, a global non-profit organization that identifies companies involved in the fight against climate change.

Saint-Gobain was recognized for its actions to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions over the past year, mitigate climate risks and develop a low-carbon economy. For instance, Saint-Gobain has installed turbines in India and Italy to produce electricity from previously non-recovered energy. By the end of 2018, Saint-Gobain had reduced its CO₂ emissions by 12% compared to 2010.

Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain, said: "This recognition underlines the Group's involvement and its commitment to transparency on the subject of climate change, as well as the efforts already undertaken to reduce our CO₂ emissions. It also commends the ambitious commitment we made in 2019 year to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, in line with the +1.5°C warming scenarios. »

The environmental data collected by CDP from more than 8,400 companies and 900 cities and states around the world makes CDP's platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are taking action against climate change. The CDP evaluates companies and assigns them a score from A to D, based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and by judging their level of environmental leadership through the best practices they have implemented, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets.
