FIRST QUARTER 2001 CONSOLIDATED SALES UP 22.5%
Groupe Lapeyre consolidated sales rose by 22.5% to EUR345.3 million in the first
three months of 2001. On a comparable structure, sales were up 7.5% from the
prior-year period.

In France, B2C sales enjoyed further strong growth in the first quarter. On the
contrary, B2B sales in Germany and Poland continued to decline. Telhanorte, the
new Brazilian unit consolidated since August 2000, reported EUR36 million in
sales for the period.
