SAINT-GOBAIN ONCE AGAIN INCLUDED

IN THE CDP "CLIMATE CHANGE A LIST"

Saint-Gobain has once again been included this year in the "Climate Change A List" established by CDP, a global non-profit organization recognized as a benchmark in environmental rating and transparency.

Saint-Gobain is named as one of the leading companies in terms of environmental ambition and transparency thanks to its significant and demonstrable action on climate. The A list comprises only 200 companies worldwide (compared to 277 in 2020) out of nearly 12,000 companies evaluated.

To reach its target of carbon neutrality by 2050, the Group has defined a 2030 roadmap targeting a reduction in CO2 emissions of 33% for scopes 1 and 2, and of 16% for scope 3, both in absolute terms versus 2017. The Group is allocating €100 million each year until 2030 to capital expenditure and R&D focused on reducing CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the Group uses an internal carbon price for investment and R&D decisions, which has been increased to €75 per ton for capital expenditure (versus €50 previously), and is €150 per ton for R&D projects.

Beyond the efforts to reduce its own CO2 emissions, the Group is a key player in sustainability, with solutions bringing a sustainability benefit (for the planet or for people - in terms of health and safety and well-being) representing 72% of its sales in 2020. Solutions sold across the globe in one year result in around 1,300 million tons of avoided CO2 emissions over their lifespan, around 40 times Saint-Gobain's own total carbon footprint in 2020 (scopes 1, 2 and 3).

Finally, the Group makes a significant contribution to the acceleration of the construction sector's ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) agenda in collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations, building ecosystem partnerships and exchanging with start-ups.

Claire Pedini, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility of Saint-Gobain , said: "This is a recognition of the progress made and the commitment of the Group with regards to the fight against climate change. Saint-Gobain is a key player in this respect and demonstrates at all levels its leadership and responsibility : maximizing the positive impact for our customers thanks to our solutions, whilst minimizing our own footprint as part of our commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050 ."

CDP assesses companies using an independent methodology, allocating a score of A to D- based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets.
