Compass Group announces the acquisition of Menke Menue, Germany and Chiyoda Food, Japan

Compass Group, the world's leading foodservice company, is pleased to announce the following acquisitions:

Menke Menue in Bremen, Germany

The acquisition of Küchenbetrieb Menke - Bremer Betriebsverpflegung GmbH & Co. KG, Menke Cateringkonzepte GmbH & Co. KG and Menü-Dienst Nolting GmbH & Co. KG (together "Menke Menue" or "Menke") for an aggregate cash consideration of up to €4.8m (approximately £4.0m) which will be funded from existing cash resources.

Menke Menue is an established food service business, based in Bremen, Germany and operates in the Education and Healthcare sectors. The acquisition of Menke provides an excellent opportunity for Compass Group in Germany to expand its existing presence in these two important segments of the market.

Menke has been acquired by Compass Group (Deutschland) GmbH from Frank Menke, Monika Menke, Sinnikka Menke and Alix-Anik Detmer.

Chiyoda Food, Japan

The acquisition of 90% of the shares of Chiyoda Kyushoku Services Co, Ltd and Marunouchi Polestar Co, Ltd. (together "Chiyoda Food").  The gross assets of Chiyoda Food are 470m JPY (approximately £3.6m).

Chiyoda Food provides food services and extends our presence in the Japanese market.

Chiyoda Food has been acquired by Seiyo Food - Compass Group (Japan) Inc, from Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha who will retain a 10% shareholding.
