COMPASS GROUP PLC

Application has today been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock 
Exchange for a block listing of 2,300,000 ordinary shares of 10 pence each to be 
admitted to the Official List.

The shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of Compass 
Group PLC and are to be issued as a result of the future release of ordinary 
shares under the terms of the Company's Commitment Share Plan.
