COMPASS GROUP PLC: DIRECTOR / PDMR SHAREHOLDING

Compass Group PLC (the "Company") announces the following changes in the interests of Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility in ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the share capital of the Company ("Shares").

On 22 July 2010, Gerhard Poelzl, a PDMR who is responsible for the Company's business in the Pacific region, exercised a total of 51,575 options and disposed of all the resulting Shares at 557.6667 pence per Share.   9,175, 15,000, 20,000 and 7,400 options were exercised at 371.60, 430.00, 422.00 and 292.50 pence respectively.

Following this transaction, Mr Poelzl's shareholding remains unchanged at 88,237 Shares, representing 0.0047% of the issued share capital of the Company.
